Biotika a.s. (joint-stock company) is a Slovak manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients with more than 70 years of tradition. We are experts in the biotechnological production of active pharmaceutical ingredients, primarily Penicillin V and Polymyxin B Sulfate. We also provide contract manufacturing services including scale-up of biotechnological products to commercial production. We carry out research and development activities in the field of biotechnology.

Manufacturing

Biotika is a manufacturer of the active pharmaceutical ingredient Penicillin V-PNC, a well-known antibiotic. We produce Polymyxin B Sulfate, utilizing our unique proprietary manufacturing method. We distribute our own active pharmaceutical ingredients worldwide.

Quality

Our Compliance Governance and Quality Management System fulfils regulatory requirements of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Good Manufacturing Practice in the production of human and veterinary medicines.

Research and Development

Cooperation with research institutes and contract partners is our major focus of R&D activities. We execute transfers of biotechnological production methods from laboratory to commercial scale including yield optimization.
